The Story
The Chamber Where Spring Lived
Deep inside City Palace stands the Phool Mahal — the Flower Palace — a private chamber where Rajasthan’s royal women retreated among painted blossoms, fresh garlands, and the scent of jasmine carried in on the evening air.
Unlike the grand public courts, this was a room built for softness — walls hand-painted with marigold and rose vines, floors strewn with fresh petals each morning, the air kept cool with rosewater sprinkled on stone.
Phool Mahal carries that gentleness forward — a candle vessel for the rooms in your home that are meant for rest, not ceremony.
The Vessel
Painted by Hand, Petal by Petal
Sculpted in soft blush-pink with hand-painted floral vines, a domed lid, and a tiny elephant standing watch at the very top.
A ring of daisies and garden flowers is hand-painted in soft gold, cream, and sage green along the base — no two vessels are painted identically
A small ceremonial elephant, draped in carved fabric, stands at the very crown of the domed lid — a guardian figure drawn from royal Rajput processions
Smaller carved window screens flank either side of the central arch cartouche — echoing the same craft tradition seen across Jaipur’s palace facades
The lid rises in soft fluted panels trimmed in antique gold, finished with a delicate scalloped border at its widest point
A muted, dusty-rose base colour, gentler than the deeper pink of our Hawa Mahal vessel — chosen to feel quiet, warm, and personal
