In the royal courts of Rajputana, no occasion was complete without the Hathi Yatra — the ceremonial elephant procession that announced the Maharaja’s presence to the entire city.
Caparisoned tuskers draped in hand-embroidered silk and burnished gold moved through the arched gateways of Amber Fort as drums echoed across the Aravalli hills — a spectacle that stopped a city in its tracks. Courtiers lined the route. The air was thick with oud and camphor.
Hathi Mahal holds that moment in perpetuity — a candle vessel that carries five centuries of royal Rajput ceremony into your home.
